Blessings Through Praise Lesson

Something to think about: Are we two faced?

  • Did you ever come across a person in your school that talked nice to someone in their face and then talk bad about them when that individual left?

  • Have you ever had someone tell you to do something that was right but then they do the wrong thing when they are faced with the similar situation?

  • Ever hear about someone that thought they were the only one in a relationship only to find out that there significant other has another individual?

That is being two-faced. Changing yourself to fit a particular situation. The problem is turning within ourselves and ask are we two-faced with God.

Compare yourself in different situations. Are you the same in the spiritual sense at school and at church? If your parents or pastor were to monitor a random conversation that you had at school, would they approve how you carry yourself? Well, since God is omnipresent (God is everywhere) don’t you think he knows what you are doing?

We must align ourselves to God’s teachings at all times. It’s easy for us not to especially if we see that a great deal of “religious” folk that are two faced with God. God over the years is the same. So we as children of God should not change in different situations either.

In short, be real with your fellow choir members, be real with your friends, and most importantly, be real with God.

Next Week: Putting things behind you: the powers and pitfalls of forgiveness.

Assignment: Visit my website dedicated to the choir http://www.roboninja.org/btp.htm.

Prayer: Lord God, help us to be just like you. Your word, promises, and love will never change. Forgive us if we have not been two-faced with you or anybody else. Strengthen us so that we may be real with you and in turn to our fellow Christian brothers and sisters.
