Layin' the smack on the 5th Quarter. It's Duke L'Orange (Pronounced Duke La Ronge)

Welcome, 5th Quarter family. This site is dedicated to you and the wonderful bands you represent. For those who don't know Duke L'Orange is my nickname on the 5th Quarter. I am the self proclaimed playwright of the 5th. In addition to the thought provoking questions that only keen musical minds can answer, I am know for laying some pretty heavy smack on unsuspecting posters. Using pictures, 5th Quarter events, and their own band's weaknesses, I render them dumbfounded and the other posters in stitches with some very clever skits which are written in play form.

How do I do it? Plain and simple like the other vet posters, I TELL THE TRUTH. I don't let my pride for my band get in the way. It doesn't matter what band I represent, or how good they are, the newbies on the site soon realize that I am a force on the smack board. Don't let the kind demeanor fool you.

But I digress . . . where was I?

Oh yeah, the name. Duke L'Orange is a cartoon duck from the TV cartoon show (not the movie) the Mighty Ducks. He's my favorite duck on the show. I was called the "Mighty Duck of the 101;" the name fits.

I have been with Christy and Mike's website since THE RANKS where I was introduced to some of the legends such as MADMUSICIAN and BRUCEWAYNE100. When the 5th Quarter came about, I was one of the people that remained in support of the move that the webmasters have made. As long as I am teaching music, playing music, or listening to a HBCU band, I will always support Mike and Christy and all of the 5th Quarter future endeavors. If you are a HBCU band fan, I strongly urge that you do the same.

Anyway, I would like to send shoutouts to:

• All of the HBCU bands both good and bad. The bad bands will always improve. The good will always set the standard.
• The Mid Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) for being the home of the most dynamic group of bands in the world.
• My 101 brothers on the 5th Quarter Psilent Thunder, Rabbit99, Pacemaker, Thunderbrother, Slush, KJ1919, Boner, and others I have forgotten.
• All of my 5th Quarter brothers and sisters.
• Christy and Mike for inventing the site in the first place.
